Landscape Photographer of the Year

Landscape Photographer of the Year

It's that time of year when the results of the UK's leading landscape photography competition, Take-a-View, are published.  I have been extremely fortunate to have achieved awarded images in this competition every year since it began, an accolade matched only by one other photographer, my friend Ian Cameron.  While this is an accomplishment I am extremely proud of, it does rather heap pressure onto me to maintain this 100% record each year.  For this years competition, the seventh year, I was delighted to once again achieve a Highly Commended status, this time for 'View from Afar', a photograph captured last autumn in the beautiful Lake District.

From the moment I came gasping over the top of the fell and witnessed the beautiful view opening out below me, I knew the resulting photograph was going to be my best entry into the Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.  So, I was very pleased to find out that the judges agreed with me, and delighted that this image helped me maintain my 100% record in this prestigious competition.

All the winning and commended entries can be viewed in the Awards book that accompanies the competition.  In addition my image, along with a choice selection of other awarded images will soon be on view at the National Theatre in London.

Hi, loved this photo at the exhibition.
Where abouts in the lake district is it?
Do you have a gallery up there?
Thanks.
