In October 2024, I'll be joining forces with leading landscape photographer Jeremy Walker to co-run a photography tour in the amazing Canadian Rockies.  This epic landscape is without doubt one of the world's most spectacular locations and provides a wealth of incredible locations for landscape photographers.  Throughout a week long photography adventure we will be guiding you to shoot many of the most visually spectacular locations within Banff National Park, and will be making forays further afield including Yoho and Kootenay National Parks, all the while shooting epic vistas featuring soaring mountains, beautiful blue glacial lakes and raging rivers.

Both Jeremy and myself know this area well; individually we have both led workshops to this area in the past, and are excited to now be pooling our knowledge in order to provide you with the photographic trip of a lifetime.  The trip is limited to just six guests, ensuring a high level of personal attention and support by two of the UK's best known landscape photographers.

We will meet guests at Calgary International Airport* on the afternoon of the 15th and drive to the hotel for a relaxed check in, followed by a briefing and dinner.  Over the next 6 days, weather permitting, we will be heading out early to photograph sunrise each morning before returning to enjoy breakfast at the hotel or at a nearby cafe, followed by some downtime.  After this, we will venture out for the rest of each day, shooting right through until sunset, after which we will return to the hotel for our evening meal.  Then on the 22nd, we will again plan to shoot sunrise, and then after breakfast, check out of the hotel and drive back to the airport for your return flight home.

* If you plan to arrive before the 15th and are already at the hotel, we will meet you upon our return from the airport on the 15th.  Then on the 22nd, if you have decided to stay on after the workshop, we can say our goodbyes at the hotel.

Accommodation

Our base for this workshop will be the Buffalo Mountain Lodge.  Located on Tunnel Mountain on the edge of Banff, and within the world renowned Banff National Park, the beautiful Buffalo Mountain Lodge is the perfect base for our tour.  Each guest will enjoy sole occupancy of a spacious, comfortable double room with all the conveniences you would expect from a modern hotel, plus a cosy open fireplace.  For more information on the hotel, please check out their website.

Recommendations

"I have been fortunate enough to have participated in 20 photographic events worldwide and consequently worked with 17 professional photographers who specialize in conducting workshops. My preferred professional is Adam Burton because of his keen customer focus and his teaching methodologies. I recall one occasion being in Yosemite National Park with Adam and our photographic group left our vehicle carrying cameras and tripods, walking to our photo location. I said to Adam “where’s your camera”. Adam replied, “we have 12 participants in our group, my job is to help assist you take home the best images’’. I’m not suggesting Adam should not carry his camera but there are many of the pros that think their workshop is about them taking their own photos. Not so with Adam. I have also worked with Adam on ‘one to one’ in the UK; very pleased with my images; in fact, some of these have later gone on to winning awards and prizes in Australia."

Rob, Yosemite Workshop

"I'd like to thank you again for the great workshop in the Brecon Beacons. I've seen wonderful locations and I've learned a lot."

Jan, 1-2-1 Tuition Day

"Thank you so much for yesterday, it was awesome to get the drone up and I would not have been nearly so confident or competent trying it on my own."

Karen, 1-2-1 Drone Tuition Day

"As you know, I said that I hope to get one photo per day that I regard as "great". Well, on this workshop, I have achieved one photo every location we stopped in. That's 13 "great" shots for me. That's down to your knowledge, experience and guidance at each location. This is one of the best workshops I have attended and that's down to you. Your coaching and support was great. Just watching you create your own images was educational. I will definitely try to attend some of your other workshops."
