Join Adam for an autumnal Discovery Tour of the wild and remote Dartmoor National Park. Southern England's largest remaining wilderness, Dartmoor is a wild and exposed place, which makes it a breathtaking area for landscape photography. A landscape rich in myth and legend, the moor has an atmosphere quite unlike any other national park.
Living on the northern edge of Dartmoor, Adam has an in-depth knowledge of the national park. During this 3 day workshop Adam will lead you to many of Dartmoor's best known locations while also visiting some lesser known spots. Throughout the trip Adam will be at hand to provide as much guidance and support as you would like to help you capture many atmospheric landscape photographs. As always, we will begin the trip with an itinerary, but we will react to the weather conditions and choose our locations based on the weather at the time. There really is so much more to Dartmoor than wild moorland, so depending on the weather we could be shooting granite tors, deciduous woodland, fast flowing rivers and even ancient Bronze Age sites. Hopefully with favourable weather we can cover all of these subjects!
We will meet at the Two Bridges Hotel at midday where we will head out for the afternoon, returning to the hotel to check in after sunset. After that we will enjoy two full days photographing Dartmoor, returning to the hotel after our sunset shoot.
With a maximum group number of only four participants, our chosen locations will be uncrowded ensuring everybody has access to shoot that special viewpoint. Adam will encourage you to fully explore each location to find your own viewpoints and compositions, while helping you capture beautiful landscape photographs.
Our tours are aimed at everybody, from beginners looking for advice and encouragement through to experienced photographers wishing only to be guided to locations. With such a small group, you can be assured of Adam’s attention, support and feedback throughout each location we visit.
Please note: This tour requires a moderate level of fitness. Some locations require walks of up to 30 minutes over uneven moorland paths, of which some will be uphill.

Our base for this workshop will be the Two Bridges Hotel. Being located in the middle of the National Park the Two Bridges Hotel is the ideal location for us to stay during the tour. Recommendations
"Just wanted to say a special thanks for your hard work in organising reorganising to get some workable locations in spite of some very trying conditions."
Simon, Anglesey & Snowdonia Discovery Tour (2023)
"Adam. I Just wanted to say a huge thank you for a fantastic day on Thursday. It has to be the best money I have ever spent on anything photographic, by a long way. Not only has my landscape photography improved, it is now on a different level, as is my technique overall."
David, Cornwall Workshop
"I’m back in the deep north again and just wanted to say thanks so much for a very memorable day on Wednesday. As I said to you at the end of the day, I found your teaching style very relaxed and encouraging and I learned many points to take away, mull over, and put into practice. Exactly what I needed!"
Jeremy, 1-2-1 Tuition Day
"I must confess as someone who is naturally quite shy, I was a little apprehensive about going out for a whole day 1-2-1 with someone I didn't know. Within minutes of meeting up with Adam, he had put me at ease and I was completely relaxed and looking forward to the day ahead. We had a full itinerary of locations near my home, which at the end of the day even when I knew them I was able to look at with a fresh and more critical eye. Having got a drone for Christmas and having only a vague understanding of how to use it, Adam quickly got me up to speed with all the flight and camera controls. We were both surprised at how capable my drone was, and as a result it was not long before I was literally flying it off a cliff across open water to take pictures looking back at the shore. I am now much more confident using my drone and am really looking forward to exploring new and old locations to use it and see things with a completely different perspective. Do not think twice about booking a workshop with Adam, you will not regret it."
