A 1-2-1 tuition day can be tailored to suit your needs and timescales. Throughout the day Adam will be at hand to provide you with encouragement, instruction and feedback to help improve your landscape photography. Tuition is usually carried out entirely on Dartmoor, where you will be guided to windswept tors on high moorland outcrops, rocky woodland rivers and beautiful rolling countryside. Living in Devon on the edge of Dartmoor, Adam’s knowledge of the national park is exceptional.
Alternatively, if you prefer to shoot coastal scenes Adam can put together an itinerary based on the spectacular north coast of Cornwall and Devon. 1-2-1 days can also be arranged further afield but would incur an additional fee to cover Adam's travel and accommodation expenses; if you would like to arrange a 1-2-1 in a location of your choice please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
The duration of a tuition day will be at least 9 hours (and often more), in which you will be developing your photographic skills with Adam’s support and guidance in a variety of inspirational natural settings. During a typical day, we would hope to visit a minimum of three locations, ending the day with a sunset shoot. Adam will select the optimum locations to visit, taking into account the weather and seasonal highlights to ensure you are photographing each location at it’s very best. While on location tuition is informal and friendly; Adam will help you develop your technique, paying particular emphasis to composition, working with light and mastering filters (a set of Kase filters will be available for your use throughout the day if required).
Accommodation
If you are travelling from further afield and wish to book overnight accommodation, we can recommend two different locations to suit your budget. The Three Crowns is a beautiful, thatched 5-star inn set in the heart of the pretty Dartmoor town of Chagford. With 21 en-suite boutique bedrooms the 13th Century Three Crowns offers a touch of luxury in a charming historical setting. For the more budget conscious, the Travelodge hotel in Whiddon Down offers excellent value in an easy to reach location, close to the main A30 road. As both of these hotels are close to our north Dartmoor base, Adam will be able to collect/drop off, so you will not need to use your car on tuition day. If you find accommodation further afield, directions will be provided to meet at Adam's home, where you will be able to leave your car securely throughout the day.
Recommendations
"I had an absolutely awesome day with you and learned loads as well as visiting some simply stunning locations that I am itching to visit again with hopefully some more dramatic sea and sky elements. It was great to spend time with you learning and I hope that I can continue to put it into practice in my photography."

"Thank you very much for an enjoyable day on Tuesday. I particularly enjoyed your company and patient encouragement in showing me that taking good landscape photographs is not as daunting (or indeed as frustrating) as perhaps I had made it."
